So...I'm leaving you blog!
I started a new one here
because this one is kind of all over the place and it's bothering me.

P and D in Seattle
After winding through thoughts and countries for the past year or so, I'm finally starting to settle down in Seattle. If you are dying to know what P and D stands for then refer to first post. I've strayed from the original intent of this blog and my life is more about kittens and the kindness of strangers now but I can't let go of the name that finally inspired me to write (if you call this "writing" and my sporadic postings "inspired")

Things I've learned today:
I already knew some of these but relearned them today.
1. People don't like to read e-mails
2. People like to know what's going on, but if it takes more then a sentence then it's not going to happen.
3. About 25% of the people reading this have stopped by now. (it would be 50% if this wasn't list form)
4. People don't like to organize people related events. Color-coded excel sheet of TV schedule, great! M&Ms sorted with like-minded M&Ms awesome!, "I have to commit to showing up so people aren't left sitting by themselves?!" - not happening.
5. Cabs take kitties! Some cabs. If you let them know in advance.
6. It only takes about 10 minutes to take out sutures.
7. They have cat spas in LA.
8. Ben Folds' $20 retrospective album has 60 songs!!!!!! 60!!!!! that's 3 for a dollar. but maybe too much Ben Folds.
9. The guy who I always see smoking next to my building is not a big smoker. At least according to him.
10. Lists are more effective if there are 10 things. 9 is lame. 11 is exhausting.
Thanks for reading this far!!!! Here's a picture of Conehead as a reward. He'll be around for another two days if you want an autograph.

Hello!
Hi...
I know...
It's been awhile.
I'm not even going pretend there's a schedule anymore. I'm just stuck on my bed because my recovering kitty, Toms, has trapped my legs and I was surfing blogs, and then remembered that I had a blog, and then remembered that I hadn't updated in almost a year.
Oops.
So what have I been doing in Seattle?
Seen a musical, joined a book club, seen some more musicals, took over as organizer for book club, sent out a flurry of resumes, seen another musical, got a temp job for four weeks, seen another musical, thought my book club was going to fail because despite the 75 members I could barely get 6 to show up, was still at that temp job 2 months later, seen another musical, walked, got offered to stay at temp job full time- declined, saw shakespeare in the park, got offered job again and accepted because I FINALLY figured out what it was that we did and didn't think it was stupid, saw some more shakespeare in the park, reached happy point in workload at job, saw another musical, scrambled to make reservations for 30 people who suddenly wanted to read the book at my book club, reached overloaded workload at my job, and then MY KITTY NEEDED SURGERY FOR PLAYING WITH STRING!!!!!!!
That happened.
HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN!
I'll tell you, skip this paragraph if you don't want to be grossed out. If the string is thin and gets wrapped around the tongue when kitty foolishly swallows it, it doesn't stop getting digested. So one end stays wrapped around the tongue and the other end goes until it can't stretch anymore. This can get really bad. Luckily, I freaked out because Toms wouldn't stop throwing up and took him to the vet who cut the string and then when it didn't pass told me he needed surgery to get it out of his intestines.
I was so sad when I had to go home without him.
Miranda Nox (yeah her name changed, she goes around making a "meera" noise all the time and when I talk back it evolved into Miranda) spent the first day and night super cuddly and enjoying only child time. Next day she systematically went around the apartment meowing looking for Toms. Apparently, cats recover better at home so they let me take him home the next night.
AND THEN NOX HISSED AT HIM!
He must have smelled too much like vet but I was not pleased with her. It took her two days to be nice to him again.
He has also been spending work days in my closet. He's just like a little Harry Potter, except with a cone around his head.
He seems ok now but he gets closet time until stitches come out next week.
Anyway that's what's been going on. I like my job now, am getting serious musical fixing, and am reading books I wouldn't have read before. Maybe this will turn into a review of those, but probably not.
I'll try not to wait another year before posting again.

Wow...
...so I didn't keep any of my promises in the last post. Whoops. Just so you know. I got a temp job!!!! Four weeks of sitting in front of a computer watching myself slowly go crazier than I already am. Let me just say, I'm a mac person and dealing with freezes and crashes and long start up times is extremely frustrating now. I'm two weeks through though! I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm not dead. I won't make anymore promises about posting so each one will be a nice little suprise for you :).

Movin' out.
Hello all!
So did you miss me? I know you did. I'm sorry for not updating you about the rest of my U.S. trip. I suppose I could do a flashback for y'all when I get bored, later but I didn't really feel like writing for a long while. Freaking out about the becoming an adult and moving out with no real future plans will do that to you I guess.
I'm still in the midst of a funk and probably will be until I get a job and can pretend that I'm a productive member of society again, but since i went outside today and the Seattle air was nice and crisp and cold I guess I got inspired to babble a little on this.
So here's what I did to move to Seattle.
I got on a plane November 4th and booked a stay at a hotel for 6 days. I did not buy a return ticket. I checked in Thursday night, looked up some places on the internets, found that the cheapest one available happened to be in the neighborhood in the middle of everything and a convinient two blocks from my hotel, and walked by it in my search for a subway sandwich.
Friday morning, after dithering for a good two hours, I worked up the nerve to call the manager, asked to see it and two hours later got my application all turned in and was basically guaranteed the place unless I turned out to have a criminal record. ---Which I don't. Which gave me 5 days to start panicking. The only way to appease this was to go to movies. I saw 6 movies in those 5 days. (yeah, I might have seen Megamind twice in 3 days...sorry it was AMAZING). I was able to sign a lease by the next Thursday and then I immediately flew home to hang out with my family for Thanksgiving.
Fastforward to the Friday after Thanksgiving and you got me, my mom, my gramma, and two kittens (of which there will be a post later) on a roadtrip to move me in. We get in Saturday night...unpack everything in two hours and had an excellent dinner at Assagio's, where we all almost got the gnocchi until I caved and decided to try something else. Sunday we went to IKEA!!!! and got a futon and I treated them all to see "A Christmas Story: The musical".
Now, I hated "A Christmas Story ":the movie. I LOVED "A Christmas Story: the musical". Apparently all I need is for a whiney little kid who's definitely gonna shoot his eye out in the end of the movie was for his motivations to be translated into song and dance. Yup, I'm that kind of person. SORRY I CAN APPRECIATE TALENT.
Monday morning my family left me to my inevitable freak out and I've so far applied to a job every other day (yeah so I applied to two jobs, it'll be more) because, even though I can survive to lounge around for a year, I can't deal with being perceived as useless and staying in my pj's all day. Also...I can't afford to go to the movies every day to make me go outside.
I think I'm gonna switch it up and go see The Nutcracker because my apartment is only 7 blocks from the ballet showhouse thingy. (it has a real name I just don't remember what it is and I doubt you care). =P
I'll write some more mindnumbingly detailed posts about my life later.I'll introduce you to my cats, give you some great shots of the cities I've been to and the city I'm in, etc. Until then...
Ciao ciao.

Seattle/ Portland 9/19-9/21
Hello all! I suppose you'll be wanting an update of the first leg of my trip but warning first, I'm still jet lagged so forgive me the muddled thoughts.
Sunday was our first full day in Seattle and we started off the day by heading straight back to Japonessa to indulge in bacon wrapped scallops and other various goodies that we missed out on the night before...but mostly the bacon wrapped scallops. Mmmmmmmm
Following that we walked to Pioneer Square to take Bill Spiedel's underground tour which takes us into the first level of downtown Seattle's history. Down there we got to see the various refuse of generations past and the interesting methods of reconstruction while enjoying never ending puns, which I adored. The only complaint I had was that it was too short so do it if you have the opportunity.
Afterwards we took an adventure up to Smith tower which was much more afraid of heights friendly than the space needle and got some great shots of the city, of which i'll show you later. Then we meandered over to the first nordstrom's ever and looked around a little before ending our day, a little flatly, with johnny rockets in the adjacent mall. We were going to go down to the waterfront but an epic hunt for a restroom eventually led us back to our hotel before we could enjoy the water up close.
Sunday night we decided to go to Portland on Monday, despite the fact that the only public transportation available there was the Amtrak, which is more expensive then we would of liked...but rumors of voodoo donuts and delicious Bunk's sandwiches lured us there anyway and we had an awesome 6 hours exploring the tax free state of Oregon and more specifically the fare free square of Portland. My favorite would have had to been Powell's City of Books. Which is a giant maze of used and new books. Because of the overwhelming experience of trying to choose, I chose an old favorite from Freshman year that borrowed from my roomie and always wanted to own myself, Stupid and Contagious. Read half of it on the trip back to Seattle.
We had signed up for a savor Seattle tour for Monday morning and it was awesome! Basically it was the free samples guide of Pike's market...except we paid for the tour...so not exactly free. But I have favorite restaurants there now so I'm good to go!!!!
After the tour we went back and explored Pike's a little more and discovered the Gum Wall! I got gum on my pants so I was not entirely pleased with this discovery but it was pretty cool to look at and we each contributed to the expanding wall o gum. Can't wait to show you guys pictures! I'm flying back October 2nd so except them on the 3rd.

Off I go....again
Hello all....
As you may have noticed, I am not technically savvy on my new, amazing, wonderful, ipad yet, and instead of changing the whole name and domain again I think I'm just going to change the title. And instead of changing the title the way I want to i'm just going to change it the best way I can, which probably reflects my actual style better.
Also, you may have noticed that I have returned from Italy and am now back in my own U.S.of A. But to make things interesting I've decided to explore my own country a bit. I left L.A. on a jet plane yesterday morning and arrived in San Francisco to await my friend, the original pancakestacker herself so we could explore Seattle, Washington D.C., New York, and Boston before heading home so I could face up to real life.
After a series of bad experiences at sfo in the 3 hours I was there I got kind of tired out pretty quickly, not gonna lie. First there was a semi power outage as soon as I got off the plane so my hungry self couldn't get into any of the delicious fast food airport restaurants so I "decided" to make my way over to my connecting flight's gate. It took me an hour...AN HOUR to get from the gate I landed at to the gate I needed to be at and I had to go through security again. So I was starving, and because Virgin America is in the international terminal for now, I had to content myself with a salad from one of those pseudo fancy airport restaurants. If I have to eat crappy fast food I want GOOD crappy fast food. Then I got to sit and listen to the loudspeakers. From the unintelligible stewardess from Korean Air to the way too laid back stewards and stewardesses from Virgin America, I wasn't exactly inspired to fly.
But we got through it and landed in rainy Seattle around 5 pm. The airport here was very easy to get around in and pretty too, and our hotel was close by so we were able to get settled and work on hunting up a place to eat relatively quickly.
We chose a place called Japonessa sushi bar and we liked it so much we're going back one day to try out the bacon wrapped delicacies for lunch.
That's it for now... Ta ta
Oh and a warning. I won't be able to put pictures up till after I get back but I'm going to try and not let that stop me from posting at all.
